PS3 2.10, PSP 3.80 Firmwares Now Live December 18th, 2007 Nate Aguilera

The latest PS3 (v2.10) and PSP (v3.80) firmwares are now live. The new PS3 firmware includes enhanced media playback, Blu-ray 1.1 support, and a new voice changer feature, while the new PSP firmware includes a new Internet Radio feature. Puchi Puchi Virus Now Spring 2008 December 17th, 2007 Nate Aguilera

NIS America announced today that the release date for Puchi Puchi Virus for the Nintendo DS has been rescheduled to the Spring of 2008. Puchi Puchi Virus is currently under going updates to further improve gameplay.

Soul Calibur IV Playable At CES! December 5th, 2007 Mark Julio

Namco Bandai Games will be showing off their goods at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show early January… They have confirmed that Soul Calibur IV will be playable! This industry invite only event is part of a ’special unveiling’ for Namco… There are hints that they will also reveal a new character for SC IV at the show! SDTEKKEN will be on hand at CES and hopefully Namco will have a Tekken 6 arcade machine playable for us as well… Right Namco?

Vivendi And Activision Merge December 2nd, 2007 Nate Aguilera

Activision, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATVI) and Vivendi (Euronext Paris: VIV) today announced that they have signed a definitive agreement to combine Vivendi Games, Vivendi’s interactive entertainment business — which includes Blizzard Entertainment’s® World of Warcraft®, the world’s #1 multi-player online role-playing game franchise — with Activision, creating the world’s largest pure-play online and console game publisher. The new company, Activision Blizzard, is expected to have approximately $3.8 billion in pro forma combined calendar 2007 revenues and the highest operating margins of any major third-party video game publisher. On closing of the transaction, Activision will be renamed Activision Blizzard and will continue to operate as a public company traded on NASDAQ under the ticker ATVI.
