Coming Soon To Virtual Console…

October 2nd, 2007
Jason Glick

In case you haven’t heard, Turbo Grafx-16 CD games will finally start coming to the Virtual Console later this month. The first two games are, perhaps unsurprisingly, shooters: the Air Zonk sequel/remake Super Air Zonk: Rockabilly Paradise, and the old Super CD system pack-in game, Gate of Thunder. I can vouch for the quality of GoT but I’ve never played Rockabilly Paradise, so I’ll probably be downloading it the week it comes out to see how it is. I’m also willing to bet that this news has probably inspired most of the people who visit this site to go, “Whatever.” But hear me out!

VC Weekly Update…

May 21st, 2007
Harry Chang

This week, Wii VC will see the following classic titles:

Streets of Rage 2: Remember this OG beat’em up during the Genesis Dynasty? Awesome title if you ask me. Gave Final Fight a run for it’s money.

Donkey Kong Country 2: If you played the first one on the SNES, then you’ll probably like the sequel.

Blazing Lasers: This one was off the TG16 system and all I remember from this game was me getting shot down every other minute. A very bad ass shooter but also damn hard.

Every gamer was jazzed when news of the Virtual Console first broke. It was going to be a real opportunity for old school gamers to re-live the golden days on genuine Nintendo hardware, not to mention an opportunity for the young’uns to see where all of the flagship franchises they now know of came from. Gamers who unwittingly threw out their old systems and games would finally have the chance to play those games again, skipping gleefully down nostalgia road with a happy song on their lips…

Wii VC Gets…

May 14th, 2007
Harry Chang

This week, Wii virtual console fanatics gets to download the following classic titles.

Ninja Gaiden (NES - 500 points): The one that started it all on the NES. Definitely one of the best ninja action titles and not to mention, one of the hardest end bosses I ever encountered.

Ninja Spirit (TGFX16 - 600 Points): Now, this Ninja action title was pretty dope. Especially when you get your two shadows attacking with you at the same time, pretty cool sleeper title.

Pac-Man (NES - 500 Points): Why?
