How in blazes does a show about lesbian priestesses using giant robots to fight off ancient demons seem so mind-numbingly generic? Watching Kannazuki no Miko (aka Destiny of Shrine Maiden), brings that question screaming into mind time and time again.

The storyline is nothing more than a gumbo of clichés from countless other shows; likewise, the characters are nothing more than pretty ciphers who serve no purpose other than to carry the aforementioned storyline. The end result of this weak foundation is a show that intrigues only because manages to be so mediocre.
