REVIEW: GrimGrimoireJuly 16th, 2007Jason Glick |
If anyone cares, let me just say that I’m sorry this took so long. Lots of business with starting a new job, cons, friends and other stuff really took away from time that should’ve been spent looking at this. That being said, the clever observer would probably note that “GrimGrimoire” couldn’t have been all that great if it didn’t get me to devote all my spare time to it. They’d be correct, but the game’s not all bad. It just goes to show that no matter how engaging a story and characters you have, and no matter how you try to streamline and tweak the interface, real-time-strategy games just don’t work as well as they do on consoles as they do on PCs.

REVIEW: Atelier Iris 3 — Grand PhantasmMay 29th, 2007Jason Glick |
Let me level with you, this wasn’t a game that I requested to review. The way I wound up with it mainly went like, “Atelier Iris 3, it’s a sequel to a fantasy RPG series I’ve never played before, huh? Well, I’m not looking at anything else at the moment, so go and send it my way. It can’t be that bad.” Sounds like a recipe for disaster, right? Well much to my surprise, I wound up enjoying this game a lot more than I expected to. The turn based battle system and alchemic item creation system have a lot of depth to them, making them really fun to use. Unfortunately the story, and game world aren’t nearly as deep.

Grim Grimoires Anyone?May 2nd, 2007Harry Chang |
Since we’re on roll here with Vanillaware stuff, here’s their next title that’s definitely unique and still very pretty like their other title, Odin Sphere. Believe it or not, GrimGrimoires is a platform RTS title. Intersting ain’t it? Later today, we’ll bring you some more in-depth gameplay footage…
