PERSONA 4 Announced! March 19th, 2008 Mark Julio

This week’s Famitsu magazine has the first details about ATLUS’ latest installment in the Persona series, Persona 4 for the PlayStation 2!  Taking a similar visual cue from Persona 3, the game features about 1.5 times the amount of play time from Persona 3 and a much different atmosphere compared to the city setting of the last game.  The game is slated for a July 10th release in Japan.  Click below to watch the rest of the trailer…

Koei Restructures February 12th, 2008 Nate Aguilera

Virtua Fighter 5 360 Demo Out Now! October 12th, 2007 Mark Julio

Japan’s Xbox Live Marketplace will be getting a Virtua Fighter 5 demo later today! The demo features two modes (Arcade & Versus) and will allow you to play 4 different characters! Among them; Sarah Bryant and Akira Yuki… with newcomers Eileen and El Blaze! No word yet on whether American gamers will get a demo, but since the game is coming out here soon… I don’t see why there wouldn’t be one on the way… Enjoy!

JAPAN: 40GB PS3 & Dual Shock 3 Tidbits October 8th, 2007 Mark Julio

Japan is so lucky… The new PLAYSTATION 3 model (CECHH00 Series) will be coming out in two variations on November 11th. This new 40GB PS3 will be available in both black and ceramic white for the new price of 39,980 Yen. Also bundled with the new consoles will be the much anticipated DUAL SHOCK 3 controller in addition to a Blu-Ray Movie (Spider-Man 3)! The DUAL SHOCK 3 will also be sold separately for 5,500 Yen. New Kite Anime In The Works! July 1st, 2007 cursedfrogurt

That’s right folks. Due this Fall, Kite, the bloody-yet-poignant cult classic by Yasuomi Umetsu (Mezzo Forte, Megazone 23) is getting a sequel, to be entitled KITE LIBERATOR! Die-hard fans of the original worried about a drop in quality needn’t worry too much, since Umetsu himself is going to be taking on the duties of screenwriting, storyboarding, character design and directing.

Metal Wolf Chaos, Or THIS WILD DOG OF WAR IS STILL ON THE MOVE, MICHAEL June 5th, 2007 cursedfrogurt

You know what would make the Earth a better place? If our world leaders had giant robots.

Honestly, there are no words to describe how crazy this trailer is aside from saying it seems to be a deep profound video meditation on the eternal struggle between President and Vice President. With giant robots.

You really wanna play this baby, don’t ya?

Unfortunately, From Software (possibly rightly) figured that this game was just too awesome for our fragile American sensibilities and would’ve caused Too Much of that pesky happiness.

BUT, Official Xbox Magazine was nice enough to include a hidden demo as part of it’s Holiday 2004 issue. You know wanna read more.

Spider-Man 3 Hits Japan May 1st! May 2nd, 2007 fushigimonica

Anyone wondering whether Spiderman 3 will live up to expectations? I’m here to tell you… SPIDERMAN STILL KICKS ASS!

Being in Japan has had its occasional perks: gaming arcades in every town, anime stores full of wonderful character goods, the latest episodes of Bleach and Naruto airing on TV, and the fact that I got to see Spiderman 3 four days early!!!
