Mega Man 9 is now available for Wii on WiiWare. The game will hit the PlayStation Network later this week on September 25th, and on Xbox Live later next week on October 1st. Proto Man as a playable character through DLC will be available the following week beginning October 6th.

Capcom-Unity has revealed the boxart for Street Fighter IV for both the US and UK versions. The US version features Chun-Li on the front while the UK version features Ryu. The balance patch, Version 1.03, is now live for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Soul Calibur IV. The patch includes various character changes such as the removal of Ivy’s WS B infinite and Yoshimitsu’s aB+K(CH) to 3AB no longer able to connect.

At the Leipzig Games Convention, the new PSP-3000 model was made official. It will contain a built-in mic and an improved screen with improved refresh rate and an anti-glare feature to make it easier to view while outside.
The new PSP-3000 will be included in the upcoming Rachet & Clank: Size Matters “Entertainment Pack” alongside National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets on UMD, a voucher to download Echochrome, and a 1GB memory stick. The pack will retail for $199.99 and is set to ship on October 15.
A new PSP 4GB Entertainment Pack will also be coming soon including a Piano Black PSP-3000, a 4GB memory stick, and a voucher to download Everyday Shooter. The pack will also retail for $199.99 and is set to ship in November.

Capcom making a theatrical release for their game Lost Planet.
Would be a live-action Hollywood production. Script writers and production cast for the movie take the stage. Discusses how games are now evolving and creating involved storylines and presenting emotions such as love. Movie planned for 2011. David Hayter involved with screen writing the new film. Movie will be in production with Warner Bros, Seaside Entertainment.
Keiji Inafune, creator of Lost Planet, discusses how original game was created to be like a live-action movie. In the game included immense vistas of the ice planet, love story, massive robots. Not a lot of people understood the transition to an eventual live-action film that the game wanted to make. It was a great pleasure for him to hear the game would definitely be making an appearance onto the silver screen.
Seaside Entertainment says how they are excited for getting their hands the new property. Philisophia, a new Japanese film distribitor company, is excited to bring the property over for an English movie adaptation.
Capcom Limited glad with film adaptions of previous games: Street Fighter and Resident Evil. Honored to work with the script writing team to bring the Lost Planet game to life. Plans to make other Capcom properties into movies in the future.
Conference closes. They spent the whole time only talking about the Lost Planet Movie…

Sort of looks like a Cloverfield scene with one skyscraper building leaning against another. 6 days earlier, main character is shown walking the streets of a modern day environment. Everything looks fine until a huge dust cloud brushes through the city. New game is called “I Am Alive.”

New Prince of Persia is shown. Critics already claiming game will contend to be game of the year. Coming Holiday 2008. Ellica, female character that moves alongside you. She never falls behind and can save you if you die. Helps you go further, go faster. Open world, player can choose the path you want to take.
When interrupted by an enemy, enter combat mode. Centers around the idea of a duel. You and Ellica versus the enemy. Sense of urgency of a boss battle versus every enemy. Acrobatic combat and dynamic camera angles.
Climbing and moving through environment improved to allow casual players able to move around without having to die all the time. If you fall off, Ellica acts as a safety where she will seamlessly bring you back to the previous platform. This avoids having to go through a continue screen just to try again.
Small emphasis on the look and feel, artisitic direction of the new Prince of Persia. Everything in the game world looks beautiful.

Small segment on Shaun White Snowboarding. Game is shown played on Xbox 360. Character can be customized to stand out among your friends in multiplayer. Half-pipe is your loading screen so you can practice before the actual map loads.
When friends are in-game you can do stuff like throwing snowballs at each other before going down the slope. You can play with 16 of your friends, seeing each other going down the slope at the same time. You can design your own challenges to your friends, ie doing a particular tricks or risk. While they perform the challenge, you can continue playing your game in a seamless open world experience.

Far Cry 2. Coming Fall 2008. Live demo of game shown. You can set the time on your watch to fast forward the time of day. Allows player to choose to launch an attack at 1am during the night, for example. 50sq kilometer game world. You can scout the area to reveal more on your map. Binocular can be used to find a sniper and add the information to your map. Can also mark the location a health pack seen.

Trailer for Silent Hill: Homecoming shown. Main character is looking for a boy named Josh. But everyone in the town is gone. The boy claims to be the key, the answer to something big. “Find me and everything changes.” Coming Soon.
Homecoming will feature a free-roaming camera, 8-way strafe. Weapons can be used to shoot objects in the environment. First person mode availalbe to look up close for picking up items. Transition from normal world to hell state happens during the game, more thatrical experience. Choice system in dialogue tree. Learn more about the characters, location, may affect the outcome of the game. Transition from dialogue trees and cinematic scenes is seamless.
One of the bosses in the game is shown. There are optional tasks to complete in the battle. You can attack the hanging meat sacks, take them out and the center boss will fall down. When boss hands get stuck in the ground, his head will go down and you can attack the back of the head.
Rock Revolution. Will be the ultimate rock game for all musician gamers. Emphasis on the drum peripheral. Local band performs Blitzkrieg Bop, followed by in-game demonstration of the same song. Game is demonstrated alongside a Guitar Hero III Gibson controller (?).

Castlevania creator takes the stage. Order of Ecclesia for the Nintendo DS. Trailer is shown. Characters are introduced: Shanoa, Albys, Barlowe. New lightning, ice, and sword attacks, as well as an ability to transform is shown. Available Fall 2008.
Castlevania Judgment for the Nintendo Wii. Different gameplay than traditional Castlevania game. Rather than a fighting game, they prefer to call it a 3D versus action game. Trailer is shown. Characters shown: Simon Belmont, Dracula, Alucard, Maria Renard. Characters from the Castlevania series go Head-to-head. Available Fall 2008.
You can run around 360 degrees. There is a character that is trying to destroy the Castlevania timeline. So the characters from the different past Castlevanias are drawn in and pitted to fight against each other. 14 playable characters.
Gameplay shown. Nunchuck is used to move the character around: Z for block, C for jump, shake for dodge. Shaking Wii Remote for main attack. For character shown, this is the Whip Attack. If you hold the B button down and shake, it’ll be a strong attack. Different combinations of button press, standing still or moving, can be used for different attacks. A button activates the sub-weapon. Hold the A button down, charges and does an item crusher attack. Can use objects in the environment to attack the enemy. Depending on character you can carry different types of items, candlestick for example. Blue gauge at the bottom, once filled allows for a super attack. In some stages, enemies from the background may come in and attack you or your opponent.

Developed by Soccerpunch, the guys that brought us Sly Cooper, will be bringning a game called Infamous to the PS3. Will be available Spring 2009.
Zipper Interactive to bring out a new action mmo called MAG: Massive Action Game. Will be a game only possible on the PS3 hardware. Will allow 256 players in massive online battles and helo insertions. Game will be squad based with teams of up to 8, each led by a leader who has proved him or herself through experience. There will be a chain of command system allowing long term character growth.

PlayStation Home launching soon. Players can participate in this new community experience, compete, share, and brag about gameplay accomplishments. New video shows off living game spaces from Uncharted, Resistance, and Warhawk.
PlayStation Video service will allow download of full length movies. Studios participating include: sony Pictures, Fox, MGM, Lionsgate, Warner, Disney, Paramount, Turner, Funimation.
Service will allow rental and electronic sale. TV shows will be $1.99 per episode, $2.99-$5.99 for movie rental, and $9.99-$14.99 for movie purchase.
Content is portable. Once downloaded on PS3, can be placed on PSP. you will be able to place downloaded content on multiple devices at the same time. With the PSP Slim’s video out feature, you can share the connect to another TV.
New video service will be available starting tonight.

New games on PSN coming. Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty. Shorter game at a lower price. Will retain the high intensity of the bigger budget titles and same humor and excitment. Will be a continuation of the Ratchet and Clank Saga. Some new abilities include an energy tether to manipulate objects, grab a glowing helio grub and use as a torch for dark locations. Will be coming in Summer for $14.99

Starts off with success of the PlayStation franchise: The systems’ multifunctionality; Blu-ray winning the format war over HD-DVD; exclusive titles and party games. They are the only company to have three successful platforms in the market at once: PS3, PS2, PSP.
Resistance 2 is shown. A huge creature is walking past building skyscrapers, picks up the main character, and throws you over to the next building. You can see the scale of the creature when you reach the top of the building peer at just the level of its eyes. We see lots of throwing around from place to place. Monster throws you again, you crash through glass windows of a bridge, and finally land onto another building far away. All is seen from first person perspective. The game will feature 8 player co-op and 60 player competitive online multiplayer.
Little Big Planet is shown. A custom course is shown and used to show off a presentation. A sort of powerpoint presentation in a Little Big Planet kind of way.
Starting 2008, will begin distribution of products in Latin America.

New music game shown. Drums being played using the Wii Remote + Nunchuck + Wii Balance Board for foot pedal. Shigeru Miyamoto comes out using the Wii Remote like a saxaphone while the drums guy plays in the background.
New game is Wii Music. Will offer a slightly different experience than you’ve seen in past music games. Most games ask you to press buttons with precise timing, matching symbols on screen to compete for strongest performance. With Wii Music, you only need to move your hands and your body like you would when playing a real instrument. The Wii recognizes and performs a note for you. You can press the buttons with a timing of your preference.
You will be able to play over 50 different instruments: Piano, violin, guitar, percussion, taiko drums. Drums played in separate mode, which includes lessons of how to play drums in real life.
One player can play and record each part of a song and then put it together for a single performance. Band has six parts, and can play up to four players. Super Mario Theme used to demonstrate this mode. If you spin around, your character on screen will also spin around. If you point a trimpet up, the trumpet also be raised on screen.

Most recent success on DS sales contributed to release of Gutiar Hero: On Tour. 300,000 copies sold in its first week. Guitar Hero: On Tour Decades is announced. Will be able to “song share” between different versions (On Tour, On Tour Decades) of the game for multiplayer modes.
Spore creatures is shown. Creature creator using the stylus, just drag and drop. There will be the ability to share your creations, have them appear in your zoo or even in each other’s game.
New Pokemon Ranger is announced. Arrives to North America November 10th.
Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars is also announced. Arrives this winter. Set in a modern day Liberty City and uses a custom game engine, new characeters and GTA-style free-roaming.
Utility of DS is discussed. The ability to provide luggage and gate informtation for flights using the DS is being tested.
In Seattle Ballpark, the ability to check box scores of other live games, watch highlights, compete in trivia contests with other fans. Use the toucj screen to order food is already in use.
Cooking Navi has been a success in Japan. Electronic cook book. Will serve up international recipes and cooking tips when an English version arrives to North America in November.

There are still 10s of millions of people that are ready to get into the game we love and and plenty of hardcore gamers hungry for whats next. Lifetime global sales for all systems. The biggest bar belongs to DS. Annual sales have ramped up each year. Software sales for first few months better than other systems.

Shaun White Snowboarding. Gold Medalist Pro-snowboarder Shaun White demonstrates how to play the game. Uses the Wii Balance Board. Will register stuff such has leaning forward to go faster while taking on slopes and half pipes. Game will be available for Wii by year’s end.
Nintendo’s Global President Satoru Iwata takes the stage. Discusses the success of Nintendo products: Games that can stand a long period of time: Brain Age, Nintendogs, New Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart; Games that present new ideas: Wii Sports, Wii Play, Wii Fit, Mario Kart Wii; Larger demographic: older gamers, female players.
What can we expect next. Some gamers may become tired of new form of entertainment. What seems fresh initially is then lost. Nintendo plans to pioneer new ways to get players engaged and enrich the overall gaming expierence.
Animal Crossing City Folk is introduced. Will feel like your visiting a realistic world with a 24-hour clock year round. Even when you are not playing the game are up in the morning and going to bed at night. Auction Site where items can go for sale or see what else is for sile. Fashion Beauty Salon to change your appearance and hairstyle, or wear a mask to look like your Wii. New peripheral for communication: Wii Speak. BioWare shows off Dragon Age Origins. The game returns to BioWare’s roots and is a spiritual successor to Baldur’s Gate.
Valve shows off Left 4 Dead. A first person co-op horror game which simulates the experience of living out a horror movie. The game will be 1-4 players and allows the option to play as a boss character. The Director AI code writes scripts for your characters depending on the situation. If your group isn’t doing so well, low on health, low on ammo, Director will give you an easy encounter. If you group is doing fairly well, moving together, not shooting each other, Director will give you a more challenging encounter and of course a more dynamic payoff. Left 4 Dead ships November 4, 2008 for PC and Xbox 360.
EA also announces a partnership with id Software. Opening a new chapter in first-person shooting, id Software announces new game, Rage. The game will also be shown during Quake-Con, which is happening at the end of this month.

EA introduces Nucleus, a sort of gamer tag profile that will carry your information, scores, accomplishments, etc. across games, even platform-to-platform. Nucleus is planned to be integrated into all EA games shown today.
Rupture announced. Game will allow a means where you can track and challenge your friends across all games and platforms. You can, for example, challenge a friend to complete a challenge that you yourself have just completed. Once issued, your other friends will be notified of the challenge so they can comment and talk trash.
EA Mobile highlights the capabilities of the new 3G iPhone. Three launch titles are announced, Tetris, Sudoku, and Scrabble, all of which are downloadable starting today. With the 3G’s touch screen, you can slow a game down and draw a path for the next Tetris piece. With the accelerometer, you can turn the phone sideways to get a better view of everything happening in Spore Origins. Also with the accelerometer, you can shake the phone to mix up the letters in a game of Scrabble to help you come up with a new word. With the phone’s wifi capabilities, you can also play against friends over wifi connection. Other games announced in development include Tiger Woods, Need for Speed, and Monopoly.

Peter Moore comes onto stage to present EA Sports. The three big titles: MADDEN 09, NCAA FOOTBALL 09, and NBA LIVE 09. NBA LIVE 09 will be the first game to integrate Dynamic DNA.
Dynamic DNA integrates accumulated stats and behavior of each and every player in the league. With daily update, what happens in the real world will reflect what happens in the game world. If a player likes to drive to the left, your in-game char will drive to the left. TEAM DNA integrates how a real world teams likes to play as a unit. You will be able to see that kind of co-operation happen in-game. The game will reflect what happened in “last night’s game not last year’s.”
EA Sports All-Play is also introduced, the first foray for EA Sports titles to hit the Wii which seek to capitalize the innovative controls of the Wii Remote. The game demonstrated is Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09. 28 golfers and several real-life courses will be available in the game. Some of the mentioned mini-game modes are Speed Golf and Target Practice.

Sims Team shows off new titles: Sims Animals and Sims 3.
Small segment on Dead Space. It will be an “M-rated” game.
Mirror’s Edge, new gameplay trailer is shown with the main character running through sewage tunnels, evening landscapes, and water duct locations.
Will Wright gives his presentation for Spore. He shows off the success of game’s creature creator followed by a trailer for the new Spore. You will now be able to travel to new planets and looks to be more combat-heavy. Spore arrives September 7th, 2008.

Square-Enix’s Yoichi Wada made a small presentation on the games coming to Xbox 360. The first two, Infinite Undiscovery and Star Ocean: The Last Hope, will be Xbox 360 exclusives while The Last Remnant will be appearing on the Xbox 360 first.
As the conference was closing, Yoichi Wada returned to make one final announcement: Final Fantasy XIII will be coming to Xbox 360, previously thought to be a PLAYSTATION 3 exclusive!! The game will be available at launch in both North America and Europe.

Guitar Hero: Wolrd Tour. Xbox Live will be getting a couple exclusive tracks from bands such as REM and Metalica.
Lips. A new singing music game from creator for Guitaro Man and Elite Beat Agents. First game that allows you to sing from your own music collection. New Wireless Mics are introduced that light up and features a motion sensor for actions such as tamborines.
Rock Band 2 debuts exclusively on Xbox 360 in September. 84 songs on the disc, all original master recording. Noteworthy bands featured: Guns N Roses, Bob Dillan, ACDC, Metallica, Talking Heads, Modest Mouse, Interpol, classic, new , everything in between. 20 bonus tracks available for free download beginning this Fall. All downloadable tracks from Rock Band 1 will be forward compatible with Rock Band 2. All disc tracks from Rock Band 1 can also be exported for play on Rock Band 2. By holiday 2008, over 500 songs will be available for play on Rock Band 2.

Games shown include running, swatting wasps, freestyle dancing. The console will then combine these actions into a single masterpiece movie. Director’s Mode is also available allowing you to custom edit these movies yourself. Game will ship with an Xbox Live camera.

Xbox Live New Interface. Includes New Avatar Mode, you can see all of your friends new avatars. New Primetime Channel, where you can go 1 vs 100. A sort of live gameshow versus other players on the Xbox Live community. You will be able to win real prizes.
New game mode, starting with Uno Rush. Xbox Live party can simultaneous move from looking at pictures to playing a game together with seamlessly no trouble.
Xbox Live Arcade, Geometry Wars 2 is announced. First true sequel to original Galaga is also announced, Galaga Legions will be available next month.
Portal: Still Alive is announced. Will be an Xbox Live Arcade Exclusive. Brand new levels and achievements this Fall.
South Park is also coming to Xbox Live Arcade. Only a short teaser trailer was shown. The first game for South Park will be coming soon.
Xbox Live has created an exclusive partnership with Netflix. No other game console will be able to interact with Netflix download services. Netflix media can be shared with your Live party. You and your friend do not need to be next to each other to enjoy the same show.

Gears of War 2 looks amazing. Trailer showed an apocalyptic scene. The most interesting part was the sideways-moving elevator. There will be a new mode: Horde. It’ll be allow up to 5-player co-op mode vs waves of waves of locusts.
Gears of War 2 will release on November 7 2008, exclusively on Xbox 360.
